A 3-way transfer valve allows fluid to be transferred from one pipe to two other pipes. It typically has three ports and two switching positions, which allows fluid to be directed from one port to another, or to be shut off completely.
3-way transfer valves are commonly used in piping systems that require the distribution of fluid to multiple destinations, or for applications where two separate fluid streams need to be combined into one.
They can be manual, automated, or a combination of both, and can be designed with different materials depending on the fluid being transported, temperature and pressure requirements, and the need for corrosion resistance.
In addition to controlling fluid flow, 3-way transfer valves can also be used to isolate and drain sections of the piping system, prevent backflow, and protect against overpressure and other safety hazards.
