What is a 6-Way Transfer Valve?

A 6-way transfer valve allows fluid to be transferred from one pipe to five other pipes, or vice versa. It typically has six ports and multiple switching positions, which allows fluid to be directed from one port to another, or to be shut off completely.

6-way transfer valves are commonly used in complex piping systems that require the distribution of fluid to multiple destinations, or for applications where multiple fluid streams need to be combined into one or separated into different streams.

The inline porting configuration places inlet and outlet ports on opposite ends of the valve body, making it ideal for straight-run piping installations with minimal space constraints. It is the HYCOA solution for new duplex filters and coolers — and the "Problem Solver" for retrofitting old problem valves where existing piping runs inline.

In addition to controlling fluid flow, 6-way transfer valves can also be used to isolate and drain sections of the piping system, prevent backflow, and protect against overpressure and other safety hazards.
