HYCOA® 6-Way Transfer Valve
Engineered for reliability, maintainability, and zero-leakage performance. The HYCOA 6-Way Transfer Valve is purpose-built for critical fluid systems where uptime, safety, and controlled transfer are non-negotiable.
The HYCOA® 6-Way Transfer Valve is purpose-built for critical fluid systems where uptime, safety, and controlled transfer are non-negotiable. Its internal architecture is designed not only for zero-leakage operation, but also for efficient maintenance, repeatable sealing performance, and long service life — even in the most demanding power generation and industrial environments.
Every step in the maintenance process reflects a valve designed by engineers who understand plant realities. The result is shorter maintenance windows and higher confidence during reassembly.
The HYCOA® 6-Way Transfer Valve is not just designed to perform — it is designed to be maintained correctly, repeatedly, and efficiently, without compromising sealing integrity. This is a transfer valve engineered for long-term ownership value.

Step-by-Step Guide
HYCOA / JR-33 6-Way Transfer Valve — based on the official JR33 IOM and 6-Way repair instructions. Follow each step in sequence for a safe, correct rebuild.
Step 1 of 10
Shut down the system, isolate the valve, and relieve ALL pressure before removing any parts.

The following procedures are drawn directly from the Northeast Controls JR33 Operation and Maintenance Manual. Follow all steps carefully and ensure the system is fully depressurized before beginning any work.
Section 1
Fully loosen the "T" Handle (counterclockwise) before beginning removal.
Section 2
Section 3
| Valve Size | Counterclockwise Turns |
|---|---|
| 1-1/2" | 1.5 turns |
| 2" | 1.5 turns |
| 3" | 5 turns |
| 4" | 5 turns |
| 6" | 5 turns |
| 8" | 5 turns |

1.1 — Allow pressure to equalize.
1.2 — Due to capacitance effect, larger vessels may require several minutes to balance.
1.3 — After the off-line vessel or piping is filled, ensure all vents, bleeds, or drain lines are closed so pressure will equalize.
Turn the T Handle counterclockwise approximately 6–7 turns.
Push ball handle downward to unseat sealing shoes.
Rotate ball handle 180°.
4.1 — Red arrow points to OPEN ports.
Release the ball handle and turn the T Handle clockwise until sealing shoes are seated.
Close equalizing valve.
| Valve Size | Cap Screw | Torque |
|---|---|---|
| 2" and 3" | 1/2"-13 | 75 ft-lbs |
| 4" and 6" | 5/8"-11 | 150 ft-lbs |
Unlike conventional transfer valves that require extensive disassembly or complete valve removal, the HYCOA 6-Way Transfer Valve features a modular internal stack design.
The valve's dual-handle actuation system — including the T-Handle and Ball Handle — provides precise control of sealing pad position during operation and maintenance.
At the heart of the valve is the Internal Stack, which integrates upper and lower sealing pads, slide/link assemblies, sleeves, separator plate, operating shaft, and multiple sealing elements.
A critical feature of the HYCOA 6-Way Transfer Valve is its adjustable sealing pad system. Sealing pads are indexed and recorded during disassembly, then reinstalled to the exact original position.
The valve incorporates multiple lip seals, O-rings, and seal retainers, each positioned to isolate pressure zones and prevent leakage between flow paths.
Internal components such as the operating shaft, sleeves, and slide/link assemblies are designed for high mechanical strength, resistance to wear during frequent cycling, and stable alignment under pressure and temperature variation.
Every step in the maintenance process reflects a valve designed by engineers who understand plant realities.
The HYCOA 6-Way Transfer Valve is ideal for facilities practicing reliability-centered maintenance.
These are applications where internal leakage or maintenance errors cannot be tolerated.
